#23 Is this really the end? Or just the beginning ...

Congratulations to all that finished and to myself…. I definitely found this program to be an enhancing program to help those who weren’t aware of many things like Podcast, Wikis, Technorati etc. I found out some pretty interesting thing while being a participant in this program. I found the Image Generator assignment to be fun and also the Flickr assignment. I feel that this assignment did affect me which in one of my of lifelong learning goals which was G-O-A-L-S as I wrote in the very first assignment that I don’t like setting goals because it’s hard for me to try and accomplish it, which I am very proud of my self for finishing this before the deadline. I actually set a goal and said to myself that I am going to finish this assignment only because I started it and I usually don’t like starting something I can’t finish. I did find the assignment to be little time consuming but overall it was pretty much fun at times. If this program was offered again I might like into doing it again, only because it’s wasn’t that bad.

#22 Audiobooks (or "The end is in sight ")

I like the idea of eAudiobooks I feel that it’s good for not only seeing people but people who are blind. It comes in handy for people with that disability there able to download it on there MP3 players or Ipods and listen to it which I find to be and excellent source. There are different topics to choose from and you can borrow them for 7 days, by visiting the queenslibrary.org and click on the digital media link. The next time I check out a book I will do it thru digital media found on the queenslibrary.org site.

#21 Podcasts, Smodcasts!

Yes!!! I am almost to the end, Assignment # 21 Podcast, this is a great site to listen to all types of podcasts with a variety of different topics. There were many sites for music, book clubs and different Cultures. I found a podcast that interested me which was called “HipHop Village” where you can here all types of Hip Hop and R&B. I such a music fanatic I especially like listen to Hip Hop and R&B. This website is enormous and it will take some time and effort to listen to all your favorite podcasts. I found numerous amounts of podcasts relating to Music in general from all types of music HipHop to Pop. I added this podcast to my bloglines account and I am definitely going to look for more when I get the chance. In general the site is real interesting and very easy to navigate through.

#20 I Tube, YouTube

Yes Were Dangerously In Love with YouTube. This is an YouTube video of my all time favorite artist Miss Beyonce Knowles performing Live in concert Dangerously in Love, my all time favorite song. I though this was an easy assignment to do I finished it pretty fast. I find YouTube to be a great site. The only thing I dislike is when people put up distorted videos that a part annoys me, but for the most part I Love YouTube.

#19 Discovering Web 2.0 tools

For Assignment # 19 the Web 2.0 awards for best videos goes to YouTube . Yes I choose to do this assignment on You Tube seeing how I very familiar with the site. You Tube came in 1st as to being number one for the web’s most popular video sharing application lets users upload their own videos, embed videos on their own sites and search others’ content. I like the fact that You Tube has videos/ TV shows available for users to see when they missed an episode of there favorite show. It’s also great for students to put up there work especially if there majoring in theater then there able to put there work out there for the world to see. You find all types of thing on You Tube which can be good and bad; but mostly good. You Tube could be good for Libraries because it has the latest on everything like popular music/shows and it comes in handy for libraries to find out what hot and what’s not for our customers.

#18 Let's Collaborate and Have a Good Time

Wow I finally reached to Assignment #18:-)I decide to go with Google Docs because I already had an account. Well for starts I like the idea of having a web-based application where you would be able to use application like Word processing, Spreadsheets, or even make presentation. I found that to be really interesting I even decide to use Google Docs to do this assignment. I also like that fact that it’s free where you have people who don’t have Microsoft Office at home, it’s also good for students who have Reports to do and don’t have access to Microsoft Office at home. They even have a little Spreadsheet application where you can be able to make data entries. I played around with making my own little presentation; I had a lot of fun with that since I am very familiar with using PowerPoint application. I was able to save my assignments. I think this is a great idea for people who unfortunately can’t afford to buy Microsoft Office.

#17 1/2 Explore Facebook and Social Networking

The application that I found to be of interest to me and I know it would be of interest to our library customers was Books iRead . It really summed up a great excerpt of what iRead really is. What I found to be so great about it was that iRead lets you share a virtual bookshelf of titles you are currently reading, those you want to read, those you have read in the past, and books you won’t read. I also found the My Wikipedia to be good for our customers who are students cause it’s world’s largest encyclopedia, with this application you can display historical events or the latest news stories.

#17 Playing Around With Wikis

Well for Assignment #17 I decided to do Astrology. Well as most know I am a Sagittarius, so I figure why not do this assignment on my sign. I found it really easy to do when adding information to wiki. In this wiki you can find different references. While in my search to add info I saw there were a lot of Famous Sagittarians Jay-Z, Tyra Banks, Jamie Foxx, Nelly Furtado, Tina Turner, Mos Def, Vanessa Hudgens, Lucy Liu, Steven Spielberg, and many more. I like the fact that you are able to go in and change any mistakes that were made. You do not need a password or email address but the web site does record your IP address. I did find this assignment to be extremely easy when editing information changes were made fast.

#16 Wiki Me This

Assignment #16 Wiki’s is a great source that promotes meaningful topics associated between different a page that is collaborated to constantly change the web site landscape. Anyone can add to or edit content. The advantages of Wiki’s is that it’s easy to use web based, anyone can make changes, free and open source options, and flexible and extensible. The disadvantages of Wiki are that it’s disorganized, too open, not enough control, vandalism and spam. I looked at the Book Lovers Wiki and I thought this is something that would be valuable to use in the Library. There for customers would be able to do search on any topic and get review especially for our customers that are students. I just find wiki’s to be helpful because you can be able to find and share all kinds of information.

#15 On Library 2.0 & Web 2.0 ...

Well for assignment # 15 On Library 2.0 & Web 2.0... The one that I found to be of interest to me was the OCLC Next Space Newsletter – Web 2.0: Where will the next generation of the web it take libraries? By Tom Storey. Tom Storey basically talks about where the next generation of web takes libraries, he talks about moving the web from being sites and search engines to a shared network space that drives work, research, education, entertainment and social activities essentially everything people do. Tom's opinion on changing the ways of serving libraries customers to advance the learning environment. We are living in a world of Technology so people will have to get with the program. The potential network effects of Web 2.0 have not gone unnoticed in the library community. The first traces of Web 2.0 are already appearing. Libraries are changing. Funding limits and customer demands are transforming staffing levels, service models, access to resources, and services to the public. The heart of Library 2.0 is user-centered change. It is a model for library service that encourages constant and purposeful change, inviting user participation in the creation of both the physical and the virtual services they want, supported by consistently evaluating services. I find that to be good cause we as a Library is coming together with or customers as one big family, who is there for one another.

#14 Getting not-so-technical with Technorati

So now I finally got to the assignment #14 and got to play around with Technorati. Technorati is still totally new to me even though I've kind of had a little expreience with it in pervious assignments. I've visited its website several times and spent much time over there to understand it and find its specialty and how it differs from others and why it is useful.I did the search for the " Learning 2.0" and found a large selection in realtion to my search. I also found our Queens Library Learning 2.0 listed on there as well. I came across bloggers who had done the program at other organizations. I also looked through the "popular sites", and came across YouTube, which is one of the most popular website for video sharing, where users can upload, view and share video clips.

#13 Tag! You're It!

I watched the Del.icio.us tutorial and found it to be very useful for research and other information.Del.icio.us is a good tool to use to find good material on a topic in which your interested in. It also a shared reading list which you are able to do your research and share your reading list, Connect with other people. One of the things that I also like about del.icio.us was that you are able to share a shared reading List which allows you to pick a unique tag and have everyone in your group post their findings to the shared tag. Which I found to be great for Students that have group projects. The students would be able to put together ideas thru this unique tag, which I find to be good tool to use for team work.

#12 Roll your own search engine

For this assignment I decided to do my all time favorite R&B Singer Beyonce Knowles. I created a Rollyo account and search roll, like the assignment said. At first I had a hard time adding the search roll to my blog, but then I finally accomplish it once I added FireFox. After I finally got the search roll added to my blog; I then did a search with my search roll. I was so happy when I saw that my search roll actually worked.

#11 Thing This: LibraryThing

I would have to say that this assignment had to be another one of my favorites. This was also an easy assignment. I was glad to be able to add books written by my favorite author Mary. B Morrison. She not only is an author but an incredible poet, She was also named New York Times Bestselling Author. I was glad to see all the books I read in the Library Thing Catalog. # 10 Play around with Image Generators

I would have to say that this assignment was one of my favorites. I choose to play around with the M&M Character Generator. I had fun creating myself and my two best friends as M&M. I had fun playing around with the The Generator Blog, not only did I played around with creating my M&M but I was able to playing around with the Chinese Name Generator which I though was also pretty cool. The reason I choose to do the M&M character generator is because I recently went to M&M World in NYC; and I had a great time.

# 9 Feeding Frenzy

Well for assignment # 9 Feeding Frenzy. I did fool around with the four Search feeds to help me find feeds on fashion. The one I choose to use was Technorati, I found it to be very easy to use, Since there was a tutorial to go along with it. I typed in my search for the feed I was interested in and it gave me all the information I need to add the feed to my bloglines. I also used Syndic8.com and found like two feeds from there.I found a whole lot of feeds for fashion. I love everything about fashion and Style this is why I choose to do my assignment base upon fashion to show my love for fashion. The feeds I choose for fashion was:

#8 Make life simple with RSS

Once I’ve read about this assignment I automatically thought this was going to be a challenge for me considering I had no idea about RSS. Then when I did a little research and read more about RSS I said wow that’s what that is. LOL I didn’t realize that it was a family of Web feed that is used to publish frequently update content, such as news headlines and blog entries. I found the YouTube video to be very helpful on showing how to add feeds, which was feely simple. I was successful at setting up my Bloglines account and subscribe to 10 new feeds. I found the tutorials to be very helpful. I actually subscribe to more than 10 feeds. Here is a list of Feeds that also caught my eyes. One of my favorites would have to be MTV News.

# 7 Technology

What more would I know about other then my Creative Zen vision m 30GB; it’s a combination of music, photos, and videos in one compact player. My Creative Zen vision m was recommended to me by a friend she told me that this was easier to use than the Ipod. With the Creative Zen you would be able to upload music, videos, and photos on it without using the software. My Creative Zen holds up to 15,000 songs, you are able to watch up to 120 hours of video, and it holds about 10,000 photos. This product is great to use on vacations long trip or whenever, I use my daily. I am truly glad that I purchased this product.

#6 More Flickr Fun

For the Flickr Fun assignment I choose the FD Toys sight. They had a lot of fun Flickr toys on the sight the one that I choose to use was the Hockneyizer I thought it was pretty cool how I was able to create an image from simulated Polaroid’s. I used the Hockneyizer from one of the photos I have on flickr, this picture was of a fountain when I went to the King of Prussia Mall in Philadelphia P.A. I found some other interesting one’s that I did enjoy playing around with the others like the Warholizer I found that one to be also one of my favorites, and even the Bead Art which was very much so interesting. I found this assignment to be quite fun :-)

5# Discover Flickr

The photo you see here is of a fountain located in one of the biggest malls in America King Of Prussia located in Philadelphia, P.A. The first time I’ve visit this mall I was in amazement, I never been in such a big mall like this before, this mall has one of the Largest anchor of store in it, which consist of Macy’s one of my all time favorite department store, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, & JC Penny’s, you name it. This mall is made up of basically two malls that are put together and unfortunately if it’s your first time visiting you’re bound to get lost but I have to say we did pretty well not getting lost. I hate to say but none of the malls that I’ve been to have anything on this mall. Ladies and Gentlemen when you get a chance please do visit this mall; I am sure you will have a blast.

I would have to say that Habit 1 GOALS would be the hardest for me considering how most of the time when I set out to make a goal, I never really follow thru with it. I am the type of person who can get distracted really fast and not have a lot of patience; therefore I don’t really get to accomplish my goals. I try not set goals because I like to do things on the spare of the moment. If I set a goal then I am not going to set it so high where I feel that I am not going to be able to accomplish it.


I would have to say that Habit 7 1/2 would be one of the easiest habits PLAY. This habit can be a resourceful way to learn new things like riding a bike, or playing a counting game. I feel that this is a habit that we all go thru as children and adults; it is important for learning and brain development.
